Jim --

Look what our friends in Europe are up to:

For those who don't subscribe to the WSJ, here's the beginning:

PARIS -- WorldCom Inc.'s (WCOM) French operating
unit signed an interconnection agreement with France
Telecom.

In a press release Monday, WorldCom said the
interconnection agreement will allow its customers to
communicate with subscribers on France Telecom's
network in a more cost effective exchange of traffic
through direct routing.

Including agreements with British Telecommmunications
PLC (BTY), Telia and Deutsche Telekom (AG),
WorldCom's local connection in Europe is about 60% of
the European telecommunication market for the provision
of switched voice services.
