Larry,

The "-" button is not for resizing. It is used to minimize the window.

There are a couple of way to manipulate the size of a window.

Method 1. With the window open, you can click on the upper left icon of the window (above the File menu). This will open a dropdown menu with six options (Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, Close). You can also access this menu by pressing Alt-Spacebar. Selecting the "Restore" option will give you the ability to resize the window by dragging any of the edges of the window. Once "Restore" has been selected, you can also use the "Size" selection to resize the window.

Method 2. There should be three small buttons in the upper-right corner of a window.

Use the first button (Minimize) to reduce the window to a button on the taskbar. Click the taskbar button to open the window again.

Use the second button (Maximize/Restore) to enlarge the window so that it covers the entire desktop (except for the taskbar) or to return the window to its pre-maximized size. This button toggles between the two states (Maximize/Restore).

Use the third button (Close) to close the window.

Hope this helps.

B.K.
