Worden report 01/01/02

The new year started today, or maybe yesterday afternoon. The first few days of the year are considered important harbingers of what is to come for the year. This isn't as useful as it sounds, since a lot of things can happen between now and yearend. The market may close up marginally at the end, but it could be a rough ride.
We continue to think a correction is what the market needs most. A lot of stocks pushing higher seem to have poor risk/reward ratios. But not all. There are stocks that have already tested their September lows, and I think they make the best bets as longs. Examples are TWAV, LMNX, PKI, AMZN, MOT, AROL, MICC, JBHT, XLNX, EMC, XRX, PANL.
