I've been reading this thread for a while & wanted to add a few thoughts:

1. With regards to the expectation of a small-cap blow-off before a correction / crash:

One scenario is that we had the small-cap blow-off in May of 1996, then a retreat into the "safe" nifty 50, which have now been driven to overvaluation. (Most small-caps never recovered after the '96 crash.)

2. With regards to sell-off triggers:

I'm waiting for Warren Buffet, who started as a "value" investor, to start dumping his holdings of Coke, Gillette, etc . . . With an earnings yield of 2%, he must be feeling pretty uncomfortable holding these shares.(By the way, someone dumped over a million shares of KO yesterday after the close, does anyone know who it was?)

Just waiting . . . John.
