UF, it's funny the ideas that people have and pretend to take seriously. Like the medical guild's Hippocritical Oath, those lovely words are hypocritical. They didn't apply to the slave class. Or women. Or all sorts of other people. Especially not aliens. And aren't they inalienable rights rather than unalienable? Aliens are alienable, but real people [Americans] aren't, so they don't really mean ALL men. And they obviously did mean MEN and not women, because women weren't allowed to vote and suffered all sorts of alienation until the women's libbers got on the rampage.
Also, I know it's X-rated, but Mum and Dad were my creators, not the stork or some supernatural spook. Cyberspace has lots of up close and personal imagery to show how it's done [PM me for links or try a Google search on 'mating' or 'sex']
So, excuse me for giggling at the pretentiousness and wacky ideas of the founding idea.

PS: There's also Unclewest's ideas on conscription which seem incompatible with liberty, happiness and possibly life. Also, death penalty opponents would argue that state electrocution and poisoning of people, is an alienation of life as well as liberty and happiness. Dope smokers also get a bit of a run-in with those ideals. USA, land of life, liberty, pursuit of happiness and hypocrisy! No, I'm not saying anywhere else is any better or even as good. Most are much worse. It's nice to stay human, like the rest of us aliens. |
