Project Eleanor To Standardize Payments?
Jan 03 2002 : Project Eleanor, the B2B e-payment initiative of banking consortium, Identrus, may succeed where past payment standardization failed, due to its industry backing, says Jeanne Capachin, of Meridien Research. Banks running Eleanor pilots include Amsterdam-based ABN AMRO, US-based Wells Fargo, Germany's HypoVereinsbank, and Japan's Sanwa Bank/UFJ, with additional pilots scheduled for 2H 2002. Project Eleanor is expected to roll out fully by mid-2002, and new financial backers include the ANZ Banking Group, NAB, BNP Paribas, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, BSCH, CIBC, HSBC, and Industrial Bank of Japan. epaynews.com |
