More on the WCDMA rollout. I would expect QCOM to be shipping the WCDMA ASICS in volume by this time next year. At that point QCOM will have increased it's market to 1)low end voice only handsets for South America, India and China, 2)high end color CDMA2000 handsets for Korea, Japan, and the US, and 3)first generation WCDMA models for Europe, Japan, and China.

Whatever, the case, the bottom has been put in place for CDMA sales realtive to GSM phones. The upgrade to GPRS is taking place, which puts us closer to WCDMA (with or without MSM6000 multi mode chipsets).
