Tim, arguing with Solon serves no purpose other than... providing him a forum for his relentless America-bashing. He has no interest in honest, give and take discussion but only seeks yet another excuse to present his one-sided case ad nauseum. Solon has nothing original to contribute to the analysis of a decision that was inherently controversial. There are good people on either side of this controversy, and in the best American tradition the positions of both sides have been thoroughly aired in the decades since the event. JC
