I think the IRS has been remiss in giving the impression, by a stony silence, that they are acting outside the law. There are many crackpots out there telling employees that the current tax system is illegal, and starting an entire black helicoptor conspiracy movement in the process. Collection-at-the-source has indeed been challenged in court on more than one occasion, with the courts accepting Congress' very overt intention to collect at the source as prevailing law.
I, too, detest the tax system, as do most non-liberals. There are many and varied reasons why it is an abject failure, supported only by special interests and stuffed-shirt ignoramuses in Congress after Congress. But, to the intellectually-lazy who want to blame it all on some conspiracy, the only Valid answer is, "THE CLOWN YOU KEEP VOTING INTO OFFICE IS THE CULPRIT, AND, UNTIL YOU GET SMARTER, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT!!!"... |
