Almost everything but CPUs and a little flash is made at old FABs using old equipment. That $15 Billion CAPEX cost was 90% for CPUs - AMD probably spent more of its CAPEX (as a percentage) on flash than Intel did on everything except CPUs.

don't you think that being more than 6 months ahead of AMD in .13u manufacturing accounts for anything to Intel?

It's something. What about their being 1.5 years behind on copper, 1.5 years behind on DDR, and 1.5 years behind on SOI?
