I've lived a life of fear of nukes and attacks Aren't you being a bit melodramatic there? After all, New Zealand is hardly a high priority nuclear target... Try living next to a missile silo sometime, or next to a nuclear laboratory. You guys won't even let our Navy ships come into port if the are carrying Nuclear weapons. And in the event of a nuclear conflict, due to relatively little mixing between the atmosphere in the northern and southern hemispheres, you can expect very little of the fall-out to impact you there in Kiwiland...
