Rydex Total Assets Update for Friday, January 4th 2002:

Regular Series:

SPX Long - NOVA 304.9 Million
SPX Short- URSA 235.3 Million
NDX Long - OTC 1.053 BILLION
NDX Short- ARKTOS 85.7 Million
RUT 2000 - MIKROS 186.9 Million

XAU Precious Metals 36.0 Million**BULLISH
XOI Energy 38.2 Million
BKX Banking 35.2 Million
BTK Biotech 321.1 Million
Money Market 1.194 BILLION (No Change)

*******************************************

Dynamic Series (200% correlation to Index)

SPX Long - TITAN 183.1 Million**BEARISH (At/Near All Time Highs)
SPX Short- TEMPEST 117.5 Million

NDX Long - VELOCITY 251.0 Million
NDX Short- VENTURE 123.1 Million

*********************************************

Combined SPX Long Short Funds now comfortably above 2/1 Ratio heading toward Bearish 3/1. Any pullback, when it materializes, suggests we have still higher to go before Bear White flag goes up. Next week I expect we zag before we continue this grind higher action after this pullback will roughly be brief 2 day affair.

I am looking for one/two day down scare tactic in XAU to get Long Precious Metals again. Precious Metals TA isn't budging as XAU climbs Jacobs ladder step by step.

Regular Series: 100% Money Market
Dynamic Series: 100% Short SPX TEMPEST

Best Regards, J.T.
