A dead Osama bin Laden will be a martyr for militant Muslims. Taken alive, he'll cause political and legal chaos. But what if he escapes, or his corpse is never found? Bin Laden would then take on mythic qualities and inspire his al-Qaida followers to greater acts of terror, experts say. "Take on"? He's already got the mythic part. Dead, alive, found or missing, he will only inspire a few nuts into nuthood. As long as the defeats of his followers continue while he plays his coy game, his star will dull in the sky. If he is to maintain his legend, fresh kills are necessary.
