Former Chairman and CEO of State Street Research Ralph F. Verni Joins EUROTECH, Ltd. Team
FAIRFAX, Va., Jan 3, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- EUROTECH, Ltd., (AMEX:EUO), is pleased to announce the engagement of Ralph F. Verni as consultant to management and its Board of Directors in corporate finance and business development.
Mr. Verni brings extensive investment industry experience to Eurotech with his distinguished career in the financial services industry. He served as Chairman, President and CEO of State Street Research for 8 years, commencing in 1992. State Street Research & Management Company is one of the Nation's oldest investment management organizations.
The Boston-based firm is a subsidiary of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (NYSE: MET, quote, news, chart). Upon his departure in 2000, the firm managed over $56 billion in assets.
Prior to State Street Research, Mr. Verni was Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of New England Life for over 10 years, and President and CEO of Nvest (formerly New England Investment Companies), its investment management holding company. He also spent 16 years in a variety of computer systems and investment management positions at The Equitable.
Mr. Verni is a Chartered Financial Analyst, who received a B.A. from Colgate University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
