The old Republican rhetoric clearly points the finger at Democrats and tries to get people to believe that they are the Robin Hoods of modern day America. Look at the tax breaks that the Democrats have pushed........educational tax breaks, child care expense tax breaks and tax breaks for businesses who hire people off welfare............just to name a few. I believe that it was the Dems who instituted the environmental tax credits to help corporations clean up the environment. Those are tax breaks that help people and corporations that are helping themselves and our country in unison.

Giving huge tax rebates to large corporations while giving them off-shore tax shelters will NOT create jobs here in the US. It will only give companies incentive to hire foreign, cheaper labor which will continue to undermine our already weakened economy. There will be fewer people with the money to buy those goods and services that are produced.

I will personally benefit by the Republicans tax plan and more money is great.......it'll benefit me in high dollar amounts for many reasons...........I won't list all of them specifically here for obvious reasons....I am not "Rockefeller" rich but I have two homes and a housekeeper for each one and I only work a few days a month just to keep from being bored.......so pass Bush's plan and maybe we'll get another home with another housekeeper so we'll create more jobs!!! If you think that I sound arrogant then I can only imagine what the filthy rich would sound like and remember that I don't support the Bush plan.

The truth is that we would benefit greatly if more people have more money to buy things they want and need............I would prefer to share the prosperity. I have no problem helping others because it benefits all of us. Over the course of history it had proven to be fatal when the economic divide between the rich and the poor became too wide. We cannot be carnivorous against other men in our own rise to the top ( if that's what you want ).

Also, we have a huge infrastructure that needs to be maintained. It is also used more by the wealthy then by the less fortunate......roads, sewer systems, etc are used by developers yet paid for by the middle class tax payers. It is my own observation that Republicans support the socialization of cost and the privatization of profit. They will use taxpayer money to build the burdened infrastructure that is overburdened by the wealthy developers and business entrepreneurs in the form of traffic impact expansion along with the increased need for public services like schools, police and fire and EMT support.................all paid for with taxes. The developer who makes a "killing" has many tax shelters to take advantage of and has burdened the community with a huge increase in service needs.

How about the companies who transport their goods via the highways? Don't they need to support the repair and maintenance roads they use for that transport or is it the obligation of the middle class to pay for those roads. The roads also support a good deal of the tourist trade. We know what will happen when people stop traveling....we saw it after Sept. 11th.

If we all don't pay our share then our country will collapse. I don't have a problem helping others because I have been very lucky and was born with drive and other abilities and talents which I have successfully used but for the grace of God.

We are no better then the least among us..........that verse can be well illustrated by the events of Sept. 11th. The minimum wage earning security guard with little training held the lives of thousands of people in their hands................too bad the wealthy on those planes hadn't given a bit more of their tax money toward education and training. I'll bet they supported the banking lobby who didn't want the Arab money frozen.

Happy New Year!

Pat
