In the '50s, as I recall, the only nuclear powers were the US, the USSR, and Britain. (Maybe France; I don't remember when they got The Bomb.

Since then the technology has been slowly spreading, so nuclear wars among other nations have become increasingly probable.

As an example, who predicted the collapse of the USSR?
Sorry, that may not have been phrased correctly. As far as I know, no one saw it coming. Including the CIA.
