Dear John: I was misdiagnosed as faking sickness when really, I had a burst appendix. I was 9 at the time and in 3rd grade. The doctors told my parents that I was a couple hours from dying when they rushed me into Milwaukee Children's Hospital a week before Easter in 1968. I spent 30 days in the hospital with 14 of them with a tube up my nose and no food or water allowed. Easter that year was miserable but, my parents did not tell me how close I came to dying during my stay there. Once I was informed, I thought they should have sued that quack who misdiagnosed me. It would have raised my family from lower middle class at the time. However, I now believe that just being alive is enough! Hope you make a full recovery as well! Pete
