If laptops can get away with processors that need 30W or more for power dissipation, then both the Pentium 4 and the Athlon 4 will do just fine. However, I'm thinking that increasing complexity and size of processors will mean that AMD and Intel will have to pay the piper sooner or later. It's good for Intel that they at least have a plan to implement a new, lower power architecture. I'd say that if it can perform even close to the Athlon, while offering much lower power, then that would be a big win for Intel.
