"If laptops can get away with processors that need 30W or more for power dissipation"

I am dubious. Ok, no doubt they will be able to sell them, but I find some of the existing ones uncomfortable to use when I have to use them on my lap, and that is with a processor that uses much less power. In addition, there is always the problem with batteries. Ok, when (and if) direct conversion micro-fuel cells are out there, or that micro-turbine that was recently described, then it won't be so much of a problem. But LiIon Polymers have a high enough power density that they are dangerous. Sometimes they just decide that they want to melt, burn, explode etc. My iPaq just did that (in this case melt), and boy am I bummed. I will now have to go through a complete Linux install again...
