Not sure if I was totally convinced of a bottom at that time either- It was written only 2 days after the bottom.

This bottom so far looks like the 1966 one most, IMO. I know it takes a leap of faith to buy into a market with poor fundamentals- but the internal action, time factors, liquidity, and historical precedent are all consistant with previous cyclical bottoms.

Determining the point you are in the market cycle is what Technical Analysis is all about for me. Trading, OTOH is a different problem to solve altogether. It takes a certain amount of faith, in addition to experience to buy into a scary market. That is how the big $ are made, however. And sometimes lost. <g>

BTW- How about that bottom in 1935. sharelynx.net

Not even a minor sell off all the way to the top 2 yrs later. Odd, eh? But it did follow a very odd period in market history, the last big market bubble.

Getting our 1st snowfall of the season today here in S. Ind. Beautiful.
