It reminds me of a small child playing with a dangerous firework. Unless you know something of the background of the subject (I didn't until a day or so ago) you are doing some real potential damage with it.
Even on this thread you can see where some bleating lamb (speaking metaphorically) has picked it up, and others have accepted it and started bleating the same cute bleat. You start hearing a whole herd start bleating. It's like the sorcerer's apprentice in that Disney film. The broom multiplies and multiplies. It goes completely out of control. First let me pay my respects to all scientists mentioned on link below. I include all of the authors included in the reference material as the models in Dickens work is built on all of them. Congratulations to all Psychologists and Sociologists!

They have done a superb painstaking task that now defines the sculpture of the human learning process and native IQ in some detail. It's a pity that racists and non racist had to squabble with one and another to get there.
If IQ was just dependant on Genes, actually that would not be a problem. It means that one race would not be able to "dumb down" another unless they actually fed them poison. That is not the case though, the poison is readily available and dangerous political material... Education, jobs, living conditions in general.
For those that do not understand the math and theory involved it goes like this... I am simplifying a bit of course, I will do this as unbiased as I can.
There are three groups of scientists...
(R) The Racists...
(U) Unbiased Scientists just trying discover the universe (Dickens)
(NR) The Non Racists. (Who "know" group (A) is wrong -g-)
I belong to group (NR) btw, just from my personal experience of training black, white, all sorts people both here in the UK and in the USA. I have approximately 20 years personal experience as a "database".
Just one point... non of the math or the statistics are flawed. It's ALL correct. That makes it double, even treble funny -lol-
So R does a detailed statistical survey. Blacks have a lower IQ.
Group NR are mad as hell. They question validity, and say education, health due to poor jobs etc are to blame. Group R does some more checks ...no all those thing can be ruled out. They announce this with glee <g>
Group NR do some other statistical surveys. Probably double checking validity, checking the nature of IQ distribution in several nations. They discover that Environment does effect IQ! They throw this in the faces of group R and say "check that". Trouble is they are both right!!!
Group U don't like the good sciences of Psychology and Sociology brought into disrepute by all this controversy. They take the whole shooting match of data and make a model that fits all data. They discover a first order interaction. It was easily missed unless you are thinking in more then one dimension at a time. i.e. Just the "MAIN" effects.. Gene , Environment. There is a INTERACTION, either the Gene or the Environment effects the other, or both.
Now many other subtle factors and interactions are discussed in that paper of Dickens, but that is the gist of it.
As I explained to Sir Realist (in pm), semiconductor process engineers would (these days) have just downloaded all the data in the form of
Parameter... IQ: then all possible factors [ Age: Race: School: Job: Birth date: Town: Country: Member of club, street gang, association etc: Recreational drugs used: Daily dosage: Diet type: Income: Sexual preferences]
All of this data requires careful screening to ensure a good data set. (checking for validity and accuracy)
Then the whole data set is downloaded into a software package like RS1 or SAS jump. After review, moving the data around a bit, the "Calculate" button would be mashed, and "Hey Presto" the whole of IQ vs. all factors would be mapped in 26 or more dimensions!!! That is each MAIN effect, each 1st order interaction, some 2nd order interactions may be of interest too! The report would be just a paragraph or two long probably with lots of pretty pictures.. Of course if the boss or the gubberment (who had paid an excessive fee) wanted a big report, it could be padded out with a big analysis of residuals, and a extensive review of outlying data points -lol- Us semiconductor process engineers are so brutal -g-
The mathematical approach is different, but the result would be a very similar model imho.
The conclusion is that education and job description have an almost immediate effect on your IQ. Your environment, the people you mix with effect IQ. Unless you have a determined robust personality, if you are disfavoured in school your IQ will get depressed. There is a fast paced battle going on all the time where IQ's are increasing from generation to generation.
A racist 4x4 batting down the "blacks" could win if allowed to. Strife would occur though imho. My remark about a black twin painted white pointed to a problem in the original conclusions. Yeah blacks could have a lower IQ or the education system could be biased. The cat is out of the bag now. No money needs to be spent. That fact just has to distributed as much as the link at the top of this post has. Racists can ignore the fact, but the under dog just has to have that spark to turn the table.
