Yes, yes, that's all and good. But I don't *have* any beliefs. Are you saying that you do not think it a good idea for me to ask people about their beliefs? However else will I be able to find a set of beliefs for myself? I have noticed that people who believe in things happen to be a lot happier than, say, me, and I like to try all things that could potentially make me a better and/or happier person.

I am unclear how you know that people who believe in things are happier than you? I knew someone a while back who firmly believed that we were fertilizer when we die. He had a strong science background which prompted a belief system that required definite empirical evidence before something could be believed. I can safely say that he was not a better/safer person than most people I suspect also including you.

I think the major good thing about Petz's beliefs in God is that it may permit him to view death without a lot of fear. That probably is not the case with non believers. I, like the person I mentioned earlier, require more proof when it comes to God and other such matters.
