Extreme Networks To Meet 2Q Rev, Earnings Goals

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Extreme Networks Inc. (EXTR) expects revenue between $108 million
to $110 million, and pro forma earnings of about 1 cent to 2 cents a share for its fiscal second
quarter ended Dec. 31.

The company said its pro forma earnings exclude the amortization of goodwill, purchased intangible
assets and deferred stock compensation.

A Thomson Financial/First Call survey of 25 analysts produced a mean earnings estimate of 1 cent a
share, excluding goodwill amortization, and 15 analysts produced a mean revenue estimate of
$110.2 million for the company's second quarter.

Extreme Networks reported income, excluding amortization of goodwill and intangibles, of $12.6
million, or 11 cents a share, on revenue of $144.7 million for its year-ago second quarter.

In a press release Monday, Extreme Networks said it is "optimistic that the worst of the industry
downturn is now behind" it.

The company, which plans to release second quarter results after the close of the market Jan. 16,
makes multilayer network switches.
