That was a very bizarre column. President Bush got the largest applause of Bloomberg's inauguration - many now say Bush will carry NY in 2004. Bloomberg became a full republican - saying "no" to the new taxes Dems love and "yes" to the cuts" in spending they hate. The big unions were the biggest losers - every candidate they backed for mayor got defeated. btw, Giuliani also stated that if anyone governed according to wishes of the far Left NYTimes editorial page then the city would basically die. Experience taught that.
