hi drea - happy new year.

here's a fantastic recipe that a
very nice lady in the san carlos
grocery store gave me for prawns.

she actually led me around the store
as she spoke handing me the ingredients
i needed. there were a lot of nice
people like that.

shell and de-vein about 2 pounds of
prawns. rinse them and get them nice
and clean and place in a pot. you don't
add any more water than what's already
sticking to 'em.

on top of the prawns, add one sliced
medium to large onion; one head of garlic,
sliced; one medium size hot pepper, seeded
and sliced; a hand full of chopped fresh
parsley or cilantro (your choice). and, if
you have a tomato, you can slice that and
add it too.

then sprinkle a heaping teaspoon of cumin
on top, add a bayleaf, squeeze the juice of
four or five fresh limes over top and add a
dash of pepper. you don't need salt.

cover and cook until steam comes out from
under the lid of the pot - about 5 minutes.

give it a stir and serve with rice.

and there you have it - prawns, mexican style.
