yes, some of those comments were pretty weak by the oil/ng companies. pcx can always get in compliance by simply barging off any drilling wastes from synthetic muds. pcx could also treat the cuttings as the spec describes. synthetic mud vs. water based mud is just like anything else that is new or is changing. first there is disbelief, then denial, then people adjust (even mud people) and get to work to solve the problems.
