Northwood has 69C max case T, and 17A of quiescent current.
It is quite short of my "generous" predictions of 30A,
but still a lot. Also, the bin splits start at 1600,
not a spectacular high as compared to 0.18 aluminum
process.

All combined, it smells like the 2.2 Northwood does not
have much of potential.
Maybe Intel will be able to pull out a
2.4G, but it must be a stretch, so they need to
accelerate their new SOI-like transistor development.

We also need to see how the 2.2 fares during
world-wide public validation effort, especially at
69C case ;-)

Regards,

- Ali
