Your mention about Forbes and Fortune confusing Tornado with RTOS's brings up an interesting point about how many investor, market research and analysts draw faulty conclusions based on inaccurate information.

Just my 2 cents (opinion here), WIND is uniquely positioned in a market whose growth will be much bigger than most of us can even conceive of right now. IMHO, if WIND doesn't screw up, they will be HUGE.

I've been in embedded systems for the last ten years. First, writing my own RTOS's, then requiring more sophisticated off-the-shelf RTOS's due to the growing complexity of our systems.

Being biased like this, I cant help but believe that I am now witnessing just the beginning of a phenomenal growth of ubiquitous systems at large - from cell phones, cars, I2O and printers, to the Pathfinder Mars lander, just to name a few.

Sophisticated RTOS's will be a fundamental requirement and based on my knowledge of RTOS's, WIND is the clear leader, years ahead of the pack.

Maybe you are right about VxWorks not needing to be a consumer brand so that such confusion from the rags is not really that detrimental. Investors will discover WIND based on the enormous profits this company is destined to make (again if they don't screw up in the meantime. ;-)
