Freep, What do think of this guidance from Altera. The book to bill over 1 in November and December is a key. This is very big news in the communication chip business when coupled with the Corning opening 4 plants worldwide. It adds more weight on the recovery scenario in the sector. The telecom equipment suppliers/communication chip companies/networkers and possibly even optical stocks could outperform the rest of the broader tech sector. To me this story on Altera will make many re-think their opinion on the Nortel, CSCO, TLABs, ALA, Marconis of the world--considering how beat up many of them are.
