Here's another point that has not been considered...

The population of Japan in the 1940s was about 70 million. Their annual death rate in the peace year of 1950 was 11 per 1,000, or one percent. That suggests that statistically, about 700,000 people would have died in each of the four war years from natural causes, or nearly 3 million. Given that the entire Japanese nation was mobilized for war, do you have any doubt that "Solon" would be adding those numbers to "civilian casualties," and blaming them on the Allies?

Your other points were perfectly true, as well.
