By John Fraher

Frankfurt, Jan. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Infineon Technologies AG shares worth 974 million euros ($869 milion) are being sold by Goldman, Sachs & Co., a fund manager said.

Goldman is selling 40 million Infineon shares at 24.35 euros each, according to Michael Lengweiler, who manages 500 million euros in European stocks at Bank Sarasin & Cie. in Basel, Switzerland. He doesn't intend to increase his stake in Infineon, whose share have more than doubled since September.

``The stock has had quite a good run because of consolidation in the memory chip business and price increases by Korean competitors,'' said Lengweiler. ``The good news is in the price.''

Siemens AG is selling the shares, Infineon said in a statement to the Frankfurt stock exchange. It didn't give a price.
