could undoubtedly come up with lots of other explanations

Whatever, the jig is up. Clue...when you have a paradox, it probably means your analysis is wrong, and there is further things to be discovered in the data set

These days, using a new invention called "computers" and modern industrial software packages, you can process what took years back in the 1960's 70's 80's, in a second or two. Not only that some one moderately qualified can screen and analyse IQ plus a host of other responses if necessary vs a massive data set of factors. Checking for all sorts of wonderous statistical things -g-

Checking for an INTERACTION was a big deal once upon a time. Now BLAM it's in front of your eyes.

Dickens once again (it's a delightful read, he steers a steady course all the time being nice "we don't question the validity etc")....

Therefore, we challenge the analysis itself. We replace the causal model that produces the paradox with a formal model of our own. Our model posits strong reciprocal causation between phenotypic IQ and environment. That reciprocal causation produces gene × environment correlation. The model has three features that allow for potent environmental effects while accommodating high estimates of heritability.

First, the reciprocal causation between IQ and environment leads to a positive correlation between environment and genotype that masks the potency of environment. Because of this correlation, both direct effects of genotype on IQ and indirect effects through induced environments are measured by standard heritability estimates

unsnip.

The trouble with accurate statistics... If you publish a paper on them, make all sorts of conclusions on TV chat shows, etc etc and are WRONG because you ignored an interaction (or forgot to check for it) prepare for major custard pie slapping in the face.

So that graph plastered all over the place, with names and addresses could say...Look our education is so screwed, the blacks are forced to have lower IQ's BY THIS MUCH (see distribution)

Now read the words that go with it -lol-

The truth is just some data entered in any PC, and the enter button mashed -g-

I don't think it will be long before we hear all about either <ggg>

If statistics are accurate, they don't lie. They can be interpreted incorrectly though. I have put down my "spin" on it...time will tell.

Looks to me IQ can be "fixed" if a certain groups IQ is lower as a group average by suitable educational means. Not necessarily costing much either. Just the knowledge it can be done is a good start. This means equal opportunity for education, jobs and wages. Woe there pearly, this is waaay out of line -g-
