*Famous Dave's of America Inc., Eden Prairie, reported revenue of $87.7 million for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, up 25 percent from the previous year. Comparable store sales for the year rose 2.9 percent.
*Veracity Communications Inc., a Minneapolis-based provider of voice, video and data conferencing services, has closed on a $3.1 million round of financing. The financing follows an investment of $200,000 in seed capital from Convexity, a North Dakota-based venture capital firm, in July 2001.
*SSESCO, St. Paul, which sells products and services to environmental and meteorological companies, has signed a three-year licensing agreement with ARIA Technologies. The agreement allows ARIA to sell SSESCO's WxPortal system architecture in Europe, the former Soviet Union, Israel and northern Africa.
*Best Buy Co. Inc., Eden Prairie, has named the Watts Group, a Canadian marketing-services firm, as its preferred provider of rebate fulfillment and customer care.
*Techies.com, Edina, named Paul Cronin president and chief operating officer, and Pat Brennan chief financial officer. Cronin replaces CEO and President Dan Frawley, who resigned to seek other opportunities.
*Zamba Solutions, Eden Prairie, has appointed Joe Costello as board chairman and renewed a $5 million line of credit with Silicon Valley Bank. Costello has been a member of Zamba's board since 1996, and previously served as chairman from 1998 to 2000.
*St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, said Catholic Healthcare West will purchase St. Jude's Cardiac Rhythm Management products. Catholic Healthcare has 41 hospitals in California, Arizona and Nevada.
*Solutran, Plymouth, a provider of payment processing services, has named Selling Communications Inc. a sales and marketing partner to bring the Digibates product to the incentive industry.
*RayMedica Inc., Bloomington, has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to begin a second U.S. clinical evaluation of the prosthetic disc nucleus device, designed to treat low-back pain. Data from this study will be used to seek FDA approval to begin a pivotal clinical study later this year.
*Deluxe Corp., Shoreview, said it will provide check-printing services to Hughes Federal Credit Union of Arizona.
*Datakey Inc., Burnsville, has received an order for 6,400 Model 330 cryptographic smart cards and associated software for a non-U.S. government agency. The order was shipped in the fourth quarter of 2001.
*Dynacare Inc., Dallas, has signed an agreement with UnitedHealthcare, a unit of Minnetonka-based UnitedHealth Group, to become a national provider of laboratory services.
*Minnesota School of Business and Globe College has joined the Microsoft IT Academy Program and will offer a bachelor of science degree in information technology. The Microsoft program provides schools with support for Microsoft training and certification.
