The problem with that is, we don't pay, or at least we shouldn't be paying, Wall Street analysts to wait until all the evidence is in before making a judgement. To borrow your metaphor, the child can tell for himself that it's dark after the light has burned out.

A preview of a couple of the points Peter Eavis is likely to make in response:

For months, CNC has insisted that their loan loss reserve was entirely adequate. Now, they are adding to it, thus causing the current earnings shortfall.

CNC has not bought back any more debt since the last announcement. Nor are there any details yet on their "special plans" to raise cash in order to do so.
