Tim, Well, to be fair, the entire point of Basic Training is to break you.

I was too tired to do much thinking at the time but when I looked back on it later I figured it was something like that. A number of soldiers in my company complained that "the CO set us up" because he was always eating sunflower seeds, but I figure if there wasn't something that provided them with a reason to do something like that they would have made something up.
