Contrarian Nature of Stock Fund Flows:
Ever since I began studying the relation between Fund Flows and the Stock Market, the tendency has proved accurate, although lead times have gotten shorter, apparently because of the availability of weekly data. It has held true in both bear markets and bull markets since 1987. I still expect this rally won't end until $ flows into stock funds turn significantly positive. This indicator doesn't provide much info re whether this is a bull or bear market, IMHO.
