I couldn't find any news either, but humor me while I toss out a crackpot theory: The movie Face/Off opened Friday night. On the next day of trading, monday, the stock shoots up on no news. I saw the movie (which features futuristic laser surgery stuff) monday night, and saw in the credits "Coherent Medical Laser Group"! Is that crazy or what?? Does anyone think that it's possible that the use of those cool lasers in the movie got Wall Street excited about lasers again? And/Or they saw Coherent's name in the credits as well? If this is really what happened, it's an amusing example of the irrationality of short term movements in stock prices. Andrew
