That's a new indicator that I'm playing with- the Mysterious Daily Directional Indicator. It's basically an attempt at divining the daily market direction before the open. Values range from -3 to +3, with a reading between -1 and +1 indicating a flat day (less than a 1/2% move). So todays -2.5 is about as negative as it gets.

It's too difficult to back test it, so I'm forward testing it. A blind guess would be right 33% of the time, so 54% is promising- but I don't have enough data yet to proclaim it useful.
