A POSSIBLE COMING DOWN DRAFT ON THE EARNINGS RELEASE AND ACCOMPANYING ASP DATA FOR THIS PAST QUARTER.

We all know that $20 has become at least a mental barrier for the common. Further, we probably expect that a lot of selling should be expected on the anticipated "GOOD NEWS" (you know how it goes: "BUY ON THE ANTICIPATION, SELL ON THE NEWS.")

BUT, WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE NEWS IS NOT AS GOOD AS THE ANTICIPATION ? I suspect that the stock may tank. I also suspect that it may provide one of the best entry points that we may see for several months.

Very early this past quarter AMD announced that it had sold a very large number of slower speed CPUs to Avnet (AVT) . I am not certain of the actual number but it was large. I also suspect that the price may have been so low as to have a profound impact on the entire quarter's ASPs. It is possible that the sale impacted the prior quarter only; but, I suspect not. It is also possible that there were other such sales to other distributors.

If anyone has some light to shed on this potential impending (probably temporary) disaster, please do share it.

BTW I am doing nothing and I suspect that I will continue to do nothing. I hold AMD, I do not trade it.

Patient (and nervous) Regards,

DARBES
