Paul, thanks, re SSB's opinion about Intel capital spending for 2002, as you quoted:
"As a result, we would expect overall capital spending to drop from about $7.5 billion in 2001 to about $5.5-6.0 billion in 2002, with equipment spending to be slightly down. "
This will most likely come out at the CC next week, as Andy B. put off questioners about it in Oct., Nov., maybe December too. It will probably be seen as a negative (if true) for the equip industry, although SSB says the equip part would be just "slightly down", in their opinion of course. For all of capital spending to have hit 7.5 Billion last year, must have been a lot of land and buildings stuff done last year also, as well as equipment. I assume Tenchusatsu has his new office in and decorated (laments of cubes to follow).
