Building an electric grid

When I look at the grid, I realize that a good part it was built by my Father. He went to work for Babcox and Wilcox in 1920, erecting Steam Boilers for the generation of electricity.

He retired as a VP of erection in 1965, 45 years later. He and his crews built a major portion of the steam boilers for the Midwest grid over that period.

When we buried him, at age 92, in Texas in 1995, I told the crowd that, when they turned on a light switch, or opened a refrigerator door, they could thank my Father, and men like him.
