Bill,
My problem with the PC market is that corporate computing accounts for the lion's share of it, and that segment will suffer from the Y2K expenditures of the next 24 months. I have a friend who manages a WAN for a major financial company. He's working on an archaic 486 box and can't get approval for a new one because Y2K is eating up the budget right now. He needs to borrow someone else's to check data that he wants, but the company feels isn't critical to his functions.
Mid level machines are backed up in the distribution channel right now, and will provide a nice back to school sale supply this August...

Cheers,

Peter Shaw
