Well, you make the usual points about the Chinese people being unable to afford cell phones, but there are now around 140 million users, and around 50 million bought handsets last year.

My reading of the Reuters article was that the quoted ASP's were the "full retail" list prices, but I'm not sure of that for a fact. Maybe the two carriers subsidize the heck out the handsets, but if they are, that has no impact on royalties or chipset prices. As usual, time will tell.
