I strongly disagree, and I also would not extend my comment about your belief being a reasonable one to include that. I meant it specifically and only about your belief that God does not exist.

There are some who claim that JFK was killed by the CIA. Who knows it might even be true, but it seems very unlikely. Your original statement was " Remember they murdered a pope a few years back.", which seems to imply some common understanding as if it was an normally accepted unremarkable claim that the pope was murdered by the church hierarchy. Your later statement "there are some that claim..." is probably true but doesn't really support the implication of the first statement.
