Appeal is a matter of taste, of course. I, for one, can see many reasons why someone would prefer this iMac to a laptop. Bigger screen that offers quite a bit more flexibility of placement than is possible with any laptop. Faster processor than is available in the comparably priced iBooks. Available SuperDrive. More ports.

I do agree that it seems that a landscape-to-portrait swivel would have been a natural feature, but I don't think its absence is a huge minus.

By the way, how did that "sell on product introduction" strategy work with the first iMac? Did you miss the 400% increase in Apple's share price after that?
