Elmer, yes, phenomenal Intel yields are the thing that allows Intel to produce 3 times as many of it's flagship CPU in 6 fabs as AMD produces in 1 fab.

Yields must be well over 100% now, since the Coppermine had yields of 90% at 120mm die size, and the die sizes are now 146mm or 210mm.
