I listen to CNBC when I get up. but let me tell you why I hit the mute button when the market opens; CNBC has a lot of air time to fill, so they trot in fund-managers, analysts and others who talk about COMPANIES and their prospects. Now there's nothing wrong about this, (unless of course they're pushing a stock that they're trying to unload). But their comments/analysis do little for traders. We don't trade the companies; we trade the stocks of the companies...and these are two very different animals. I cannot stress how important it is, as traders, to ignore/mute CNBC with the possible exception of an occasional trader who is brought in: James Kramer is an experienced trader...and he's enjoyable. Ralph Bloch, (Raymond James, Inc.) is an outstanding technical analyst.
