Hi Don,

Well thats the type of initiative I like to see (I am an old democrat
after all). But to inject a little cynicism, here's a 13 year plan from a
President who'll be out in 3 years, OK maybe 11 years if Gore gets
lucky. Whats a "solar roof"? My guess is maybe 5 KW of panel
per roof (thats a big system) so we're talking 5000 Megawatts of
generation capacity that can produce power for only 6 hours per day.
So based on my guess, those solar roofs add up to about 800 MW
of power plant, thats one very small coal plant I think.

But the rhetoric is nice with a good tone of honesty as to the real
impact of that scale project. And that scale of project would be a
real boost for the solar Biz, who knows, maybe I'll open a shop myself
to solar roof federal buildings!!

Thanks for the info, the PCOM thread looks pretty sleepy these days.
