INTC had to spend 7 billion $'s last year in fab costs vs. AMD's ~900million (a 7.7X difference) to slip to a 3.3X (77% vs. 23%) difference in market share. On top of that AMD set records for their processor shipments in each of the last 3Q's (or was it last 4Q's)! How's that for a reality check!

Looks like that reality check isn't working very well. At $2 billion a Fab that would be 3.5 fabs opened for production last year. I remember seeing 1, F22. You think 12" wafer development is free? Why else do you think Intel is 5 years ahead on 12" production? You guys also seem to conveniently "forget" about 50Million+ chips other than MPs made in Intel's fabs each quarter. Time for a reality refresh.
