List of people not smiling in China: 1) Students who forget that it is "Hug a soldier day" on campus and get sucked under the treads of a tank. 2) Villagers who live too close to the Long March Launch facility. 3) Prisoners who have only one liver to donate. 4) Those old enough in Tibet to remember the word 'self-determination' 5) Ever hear of Taiwan? Why are they so resistant to reunite with the mainland? Yes, I do know people from China and I have yet to see one of them go back other than to visit relatives. Somehow I do not see how a cynical one-liner could have painted a terrible picture of anything other than what you envisioned on your own! I'm willing to wait and see what happens to Hong Kong before passing further judgments on the Chinese government and their intentions. Hopefully they continue to progress away from their recent past and learn something from the way Hong Kong thrives and apply it towards their general economy.
